I usually carry it around in a backpack, not under my arm, so it's not as bad as you think. It's only about 5-6 pounds, too. :) Kenneth,

Make sure to grab it when going to SF! I lug my laptop around with me everywhere and have an SSH server running on the desktop in case I need a tiny taste of Linux while I am away. I'll just install my games onto the replacement computer. I'm assuming I have my CDs with me of course. Even if you do forget your power adaptor when you go to SF, it wouldn't really matter. I'm sure you'd be able to pop into an Apple store there and buy a replacement. The tasks aren't inconvenient in XP, it's OS X that makes it inconvenient.
