Games, bowling, and a dinner
Today (technically, yesterday) was an interesting day. I woke up at 11 am, played Civilization 4 with David for a little while, then went bowling with the ACC people.
Bowling was fun. Waiting for the others to come, wasn’t, though. Jackie and I were the first to be there, and we had to wait for David to pick up Ada and Chuan. Both Ada and Chuan took long times to ‘prepare’ to go bowling, so the group had to wait at each of their houses. Once they were on their way to the bowling alley, they discovered that they didn’t know the directions, so they called Chris - who didn’t even know where the place was, but thought he did. So that sent David to drive around in circles, until he got smart and called me for directions.
Anyways, I hadn’t bowled in, oh, a year maybe, but I did alright. Of course, Jackie creamed us all. Next time, Jackie, next time…!
It was also interesting to see everyone’s bowling styles. I won’t mention each and every one in here, but needless to say, they were very… unique. I tried to bowl as realistically as possible; same with Jackie, it seemed. I think only Jackie and I were the only ones who were actually throwing the bowling ball properly, though; everyone else was mostly just walking up to the line, then sort of dropping the ball from their fingers, so that the bowl usually hits the ground with a thud and then slowly rolls to the pins. I came to this conclusion based on visual observations and also because most of the other people were complaining about their fingers hurting (i.e. David)!
After that, we went for dinner at a sushi buffet place, at Pacific Mall. I go to a lot of sushi restaurants for dinner pretty often, but I have never been to this place before. It was pretty good, but it was very small and fairly hidden away, so I probably would never have found it if Chuan didn’t recommend it today.
Afterwards, everyone wanted to come to my house, watch a movie (I suggested Alien), and meet Sparky. Of course, no can do guys, but maybe next time!

Hey, your post is longer than mine now! I’ll just have to increase the length of my next post. Anyways, it was just Chuan that took a long time (couldn’t find wallet, and you guys say I’m disorganized), and we didn’t call Chris after we left. We called him before we left. And even if I wasn’t throwing properly (probably wasn’t) I still beat you in 3 out of 4 games even though it was my first time ever =P
Yeah, well, Game 3 was where it really counted!
Oh sure, pick the game that I scored the lowest on. Well I think the first game counted the most as it takes more skill to bowl without any warmup what so ever :p
So, that’s what you did all day
[...] The game I played on Thursday was 3 full games and 9 frames in the 4th game, played in 2 1/2 hours. Today, I played 4 games and 2 frames in the 5th game in two hours. Goes to show how slow we were in the first game and how efficient we were in the second. [...]
