Can YOU last a day without Google?

Read/WriteWeb has announced that today is the “day without Google“, meaning that all participants are supposed to live today without using Google search (they should’ve made it more interesting by disallowing use of ALL Google services, such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Reader!)

I just checked the average number of Google searches that I make a day, and it turns out that I do nearly 200 Google searches a day. I also have a total of 28,555 Google searches since Google started tracking my searches.

Could YOU live a day without Google search? I know I can’t!

Sure, all I need to do is pretend my laptop crashed for some reason and I need to wait a day before being able to reimage it for another odd reason.

    200 a day? Craziness! I do like 5 a day.

Internet without Google and Wikipedia is like cheeseburger without cheese.

I can last without Internet for days, but I’m connected and not allowed to use Google… now that’s different.

A day without Google is basically the same as a day without the Internet (Or a day without the computer)

Internet without Google is like blogging without wordpress there are alternatives but not as good.

BTW if you ask me to go a day without Google I can’t since even if I don’t have internet I make use of their Desktop search to get to what I am looking for.

I do 150+ searches on most days, so I would be lost without Google. The others are just not as good in many ways. I am also dependent on other google products - GMail, iGoogle, and Docs and Spreadsheets especially. I could live without YouTube for a day, but I would notice it was missing.

Never mind that 150+ searches stat, I just realized that google is tracking my page views, not just searches, and they seem to count for that number. Now I’m wondering how google knows all the sites I visit.. I didn’t know the google toolbar captured this info. Its a bit creepy, actually.
