University: Day 2

Posted by Gary King on September 06, 2006 at 3:10 am

Today was the day that we were assigned ‘teams’ within our own faculties throughout the university. I’m in computer science, which is in the Faculty of Mathematics, and so I get to wear a pink tie! Come on, who doesn’t love pink ties?! Engineers got to wear yellow hard hats, while software engineers got to wear the yellow hard hat AND a pink tie because they were engineers but were, I suppose, technically a part of the Faculty of Mathematics.

We had more free time on campus today than yesterday, because in the evening, there were several events going on at once and we could choose which one(s) we wanted to go to. There was a particularly interesting one that Jessica, Thomas, and I wanted to go to; it was a mind-reader and hypnotist, Blair Robertson. I’m still somewhat skeptical about the way that he ‘hypnotized’ the volunteers who were on stage; even more so after reading this. But besides that, it was extremely entertaining and funny.
